Time: Afternoon and evening (exact times TBA)
Location: 34-1106 Hawaii Belt Rd, Ninole HI 96743
We’ll exchange vows in a beautiful outdoor setting overlooking the ocean. While the ceremony will be a bit more formal, the vibe will still be relaxed and intimate. The dress code is cocktail attire:
For men: Dress slacks, collared shirts, blazers (optional), and no ties required.
For women: Cocktail dresses, elegant skirts or pants with blouses, or jumpsuits.
Comfortable footwear is encouraged, as we’ll be outdoors.
After the ceremony, we’ll transition into a lively reception with food, drinks, music, and plenty of aloha spirit. Expect lots of laughter, dancing, and celebration!
Accommodations
We’ll be staying at an AirBnB in Ninole, and some of our immediate family will be staying with us. For other guests, there are nearby hotels, vacation rentals, and bed-and-breakfast options. If you’re open to sharing accommodations with other attendees, let us know, and we’ll help connect you.
Getting to the Big Island
Airlines and Airports
From the contiguous United States, the most common airlines flying to Hawaii include Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines, United, Delta, and Southwest. We recommend booking flights 3-5 months in advance for the best prices and availability.
The Big Island has two main airports:
Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA): A scenic 2-hour drive from Ninole, it is the bigger of the two airports on the island. Although flying into Kona adds 1.5 hours to get to the AirBnB, flights to Kona are typically much cheaper, don't require an additional connection, and offer more convenient access to rental cars. We recommend guests fly into Kona.
Hilo International Airport (ITO): Closest to Ninole (about 25 minutes by car). However, flights to Hilo are expensive and usually require one additional connection.
Getting Around the Island
The Big Island is, as the name suggests, big! To fully explore, a rental car is highly recommended.
Transportation Options
Car Rentals: Available at both Hilo and Kona airports. Reserve early, as cars can sell out during summer. We highly recommend that guests rent a car to get around the island.
Rideshare: Services like Uber and Lyft operate in limited areas but may not be reliable for exploring remote spots.
Public Transit: Hele-On Bus offers affordable options but has limited routes and schedules. We do not recommend guests rely on public transit during their visit.
Tips for Families with Young Kids
Request a car seat with your rental car or bring your own.
Plan your drives around nap times to make traveling easier.
